Imelda M. Sarnowiec, J.D.

Imelda M. Sarnowiec focuses on intellectual property and commercial legal services. She is a recent graduate of The University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law where she was awarded the Joseph L. Rauh Fellowship. Imelda was a member of The Whistleblower Protection Clinic and represented whistleblowers in conjunction with The Government Accountability Project. She was also a member and teacher’s aide for the Community Development Law Clinic where she gained experience drafting and reviewing development contracts, corporate bylaws, and filing 501(c)(3) status for non-profit organizations. She was also a legislative and public policy intern with the Office of Senator Paul Strauss, the senior United States shadow senator for the District of Columbia.
Before law school, Imelda established herself as a successful investigative analyst, surveillance investigator, research manager, and Assistant Vice President of Corporate Investigations at private investigation firms and corporate due diligence companies. Her extensive experience allows her to approach her client’s business needs with a unique perspective and offer them a blend of legal strategy and investigative experience that complement their business needs
Imelda is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she was recognized for Distinguished Achievement in Russian Studies. She is fluent in Polish and a proficient Russian speaker. When not at the office, Imelda enjoys reading, rock climbing, and spending time with her pet ferret – Hygiea.
